Project Description

The church dedicated to “THE ENTRANCE INTO THE CHURCH OF THE MOTHER OF GOD” in the village of Râncăciov, Călinești commune, Argeș county is a historical monument with the LMI 2010 code AG-II-m-A-13772. Dating from 1481, the church has its current form following the works in 1847.

Built on a triconch plan, the church has a masonry Pantocrator tower over the nave, with circular side and altar apses both on the outside and on the inside. On the west side (adjacent to the entrance tympanum) is the bell tower, access being achieved through a spiral staircase made in the thickness of the southeast stile of the porch.
